Was invited to talk at today’s Freelancing for WebGeeks event. I may not be your usual freelancer, given that the venue’s not a hassle for me (Exist TechBar Manila, my current gig’s with Exist) so I obliged.
Anyway, here are my slides. As usual, they don’t make sense without me talking.
Just a quick write-up of my Pecha Kucha talk for RedDotRubyConference last night.

Went to talk about Ruby and Ruby on Rails last Tuesday at the mini-DevCon at University of Perpetual Help System – DALTA. That’s the 4th public talk for this year (4.5th if you count the RailsFTW plugging last month).
No “transcript” here, though. Just imagine me giving the presentation in front of college students right after I make a class roster app in front of them in under 5 minutes, installation to demo. And yeah, Microsoft is the sponsor I was referring to in the talk.
Yesterday was my third public speaking engagement for this year, the first being in Ignite Manila and the second was a presentation on Haml.
Not much of a background here. Ida just invited me to talk, and since I knew what the audience was like, I felt like talking about preparing for the real world.
My talk was delivered mostly in Tagalog, not only to allow me to convey my ideas clearer, but also to have a deeper effect on the student audience. For this “transcript”, however, I will be paraphrasing my talk to English for the sake of possible foreign visitors.
